Paint program that enforces the colour limits of 8-bit and 16-bit machines: Commodore 64, Plus/4 and VIC-20, ZX Spectrum, MSX, Amstrad CPC, Amiga, Atari ST and others. It emulates colour clash, and it exports native formats, executables and source for the target platform. It is written in Processing (Java) by Tero Heikkinen and is actively developed; version 2026.1 is dated 2026-06-08.

needs-review: Useful, but a real question is open. Verify before you ship.
Why needs-review: no licence or terms were found anywhere on 2026-09-30. The homepage, the application zip and the source-sketch zip (mpsource_08_06_2026.zip) were all checked. The main .pde file header names only the author. Source you can download is not a licence
Commercial use of the program and of images you make with it is therefore unstated, not forbidden. Pictures you draw are your own work, but the catalog cannot record a grant the author has not written down
To settle it, the author would need to state terms on the site or add a licence to the source zip. Re-checked 2026-10-04: still no licence, terms or copyright notice anywhere, so licence, commercial use and credit all remain open
macOS builds are unsigned; the site says the packaged app is likely to be reported as damaged and gives workarounds
Evidence
Live homepage (2026-09-30): "Multipaint 2026.1 (Version 8.6.2026)"
Live homepage (2026-09-30): no licence statement found; the source sketch zip contains no licence file
multipaint.pde in the source zip (2026-09-30): header reads "Multipaint 2026", "Tero Heikkinen (Dr. Terrorz)", with no licence line
Re-check (2026-10-04): live homepage still "Multipaint 2026.1 (Version 8.6.2026)" with no licence statement; mpsource_08_06_2026.zip and multipaint.zip downloaded again, neither lists a licence, COPYING or readme file, and a grep of the sketch sources for "license", "copyright", "GPL" and "all rights" found no match
