Finnish national 2 m elevation grid from the National Land Survey (Maanmittauslaitos), released as open data under CC BY 4.0. Good for realistic northern lake, forest and fell terrain at a resolution far above the global 30 m DEMs. Coverage is Finland only, and the attribution must name the dataset and its delivery date.
The publisher's required wording: name the Licensor (the National Land Survey of Finland), the dataset, and the time the dataset was delivered. The publisher's own example reads "contains data from the National Land Survey of Finland Topographic Database 06/2014"; the attribution_string above adapts that pattern to this dataset, so replace MM/YYYY with your delivery date.
The product page lists distribution as Ascii grid and GeoTiff, via MapSite and the file download service (OGC API Processes, Finnish-language interface).
The same licence covers the NLS's other open datasets (for example the Topographic Database), which are not catalogued separately here.
A heightmap baked from the DEM is a derived work and keeps the CC BY 4.0 credit.
The older open data licence version 1.0 (valid 1.5.2012 to 15.1.2015) is listed as superseded; the terms in force at the time of acquisition apply to old downloads.
