Dutch national height map built from airborne lidar, with raster grids (0.5 m and 5 m) and point clouds, downloadable per map sheet through PDOK. Excellent for flat polder and urban terrain. Marked needs-review: the AHN page says the data is free to use "without restrictions" but names no licence instrument this session, so the exact licence is unconfirmed.

Notes
AHN1, AHN2 and AHN3 are the open datasets named on the page. Newer releases (AHN4 and later) were not confirmed on that page this session. Subunits are the map sheets for the 0.5 m raster and the point clouds; units are used for the 5 m raster. Sheet layout files are on the page. Format names (GeoTIFF raster, LAZ point cloud) are from general knowledge of the PDOK downloads, not from the page; confirm on download. Before moving to active, find a licence statement (for example a CC0 or public domain mark) on a PDOK or Nationaal Georegister record and quote it. The licence page https://www.ahn.nl/licentie returned 404 this session.
Evidence
AHN open data page (2026-10-04), in Dutch: "De datasets van het AHN1, AHN2 en AHN3 zijn beschikbaar als Open Data." Same page (2026-10-04): "door iedereen gratis en zonder beperkingen te gebruiken is" (free for anyone to use without restrictions). No licence name located on the page; status is needs-review for that reason.
